Q: Are cameras or video cameras allowed?

A: Cameras and video cameras are permitted and encouraged at Ocean Quest, as long as the footage is for personal use.

Q: Are pets allowed?

A: We do not allow any animals or pets into our facility, except for licensed service dogs.

Q: Do you have reciprocal memberships?

A: Yes, we do.  First, purchase an Ocean Quest Membership. This will automatically enroll you in the ASTC Passport Program. Then check the ASTC Passport Program list to find other participating museums—now more than 300 in over a dozen countries. Then get ready to go!

Q: Do you allow outside food at Ocean Quest?

A: Ocean Quest does not allow outside food within the museum. However, the adjacent Balboa Fun Zone offers delicious food, drinks and desserts! Click here for a list of restaurants.

Q: Are you open when it’s raining?

A: Yes, we are open in the rain! Ocean Quest is the perfect place to visit during raining days as the majority of our exhibits are indoors.

Q: Do you allow re-entry into Ocean Quest?

A: Re-entry is not permitted at Ocean Quest. Please keep your admission ticket with you at all times during your visit.

Q: My child is under 3. What is the cost?

A: There is no charge for children under the age of 3 to visit the Ocean Quest.

Q: What is the cost of parking?

A: Parking is available along Balboa Boulevard in metered stalls and in the pay-to-park lot located at Balboa Blvd and Palm St. If parking in the Ocean Quest lot, download the ParkMobile app to pay from your smart phone.

Q: How can I check the balance on my gift card?

A: You can check your balance online, click here.

Q: Will you donate to our fundraiser?

A: As a non-profit organization, Ocean Quest is happy to assist other non-profit groups with their fundraising and event planning needs. In order to receive donated admission tickets, please take a moment to fill out our online donation form.
